How do I explain this and is Bethany correct

a cube, like the one in the picture below, has a width=length=height, all sides are equal.  Now, on this one we know it has a volume of 27 in³.

what happened is, Bethany stayed up late last nite till 2am watching reruns of the Teletubbies, so she needs to take a good nap, is all.
