In a couple of well written sentences, explain how violence was used to deny African Americans real freedom in the Jim Crow era.
zmey [24]
African Americans were denied many things that white people were not denied in the Jim Crow era. For example, African Americans were forced to segregate from white people and were always given the worst half of everything. On buses they would sit in the back and give their seats up for white people. Additionally, schools were separated and white schools were well funded while African schools were not. If they didn’t segregate they would be jailed. Many times they were beaten and/ or killed
