Answer: 5 questions wrong that were each worth 5 points (-5x5=-25)
So he lost 25 points but he got 10 extra from the bonus question, so -25 + 10= -15.
He lost 15 marks overall

Chelsea uses 3 pounds of apples to make 4 cups. How many pounds of apple does she need to make 6 pints of applesauce
Gemiola [76]

Here, we know that 1 pint = 2 cups

Thus, 1 cup = \frac{1 pints}{2}

3 ponds apples are needed for 4 cups i.e. 3 ponds of apples = 4 cups of applesauce

1 cup of applesauce = \frac{3 ponds}{4}

Now, 6 pints will have 12 cups of applesauce

Multiplying this equation by 12 ⇒ 1 cup of applesauce = \frac{3 ponds}{4}

12 ×1 cup of applesauce = 12 × \frac{3 ponds}{4}

So, 12 cups of applesauce = 9 ponds of apple.

Thus, 9 ponds of apple will be needed to make 6 pints of applesauce.

A baseball is thrown upward and its height after t seconds can be described by formula h(t)=−16t2+50t+5. Find the maximum height
asambeis [7]

h(t) = -16t² + 50t + 5

The maximum height is the y vertex of this parabola.

Vertex = (-b/2a, -Δ/4a)

The y vertex is -Δ/4a

So,

The maxium height is -Δ/4a

Δ = b² - 4.a.c

Δ = 50² - 4.(-16).5

Δ = 2500 + 320

Δ = 2820

H = -2820/4.(-16)

H = -2820/-64

H = 2820/64

H = 44.0625

So, the maxium height the ball will reach is 44.0625

Joey has two pieces of wood. One is 120 inches and the other one is 210 inches long. He wants to cut both the pieces into smalle
deff fn [24]

Answer:

A. 30 inches

B. 11 pieces

Step-by-step explanation:

Piece 1 = 120 inches

Piece 2 = 210 inches

1. He wants the smallest pieces to be as long as possible without having any leftover, how long should each piece be?

Find the highest common factor of 120 and 210

120: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 24, 30, 40, 60, and 120.

210: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 14, 15, 21, 30, 35, 42, 70, 105, 210.

The highest common factor of 120 and 210 = 30

Therefore, the smallest and longest pieces should be cut into 30 inches each

B. Total Smaller pieces of wood = piece 1 / 30 + piece 2 / 30

= 120/30 + 210/30

= 4 + 7

= 11 pieces
