High shelf life apple and disease free banana are the two fruits  that are being engineered to be healthier.

The yield, production and nutrition value of food can be improved by employing genetic engineering in the food production. This will solve the problem of food in countries where resources are scarce.

Explanation:

Genetic engineering is the process in which genes are altered or introduced in a particular organism or plant to create a useful trait.

The genetically modified foods have many advantages as no use of pesticides, long shelf life, high nutritious value and high yield.

The two fruits are:

Arctic apples are genetically modified so that they do not get brown after slicing. This healthier version of apple is a big step in preventing food wastage.

Banana plantations were suffering due to a disease fusarium wilt but GMO have resolved the issue and prevented the disease and increase its production.

The people of less privilege countries who continuously face famine and malnutrition can solve their food problem by using GM techniques. The yield and nutrition value can be increased manifold in the crops. Besides the crops would made to get ready in less resources to overcome famine conditions.

Fruits like papaya, bananas, apples, strawberries are nutritionally enriched especially with micronutrients.

Explanation:

Genetically engineered or modified or transgenic foods like GM fruits, rice, vegetables etc are the best tools to fight malnutrition and famine in many developing countries like Africa.

This modification helps to retain the best qualities, extend the shelf life, increase the yield, and to increase the nutrient content.

Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are the main reasons for malnutrition in most of the countries. When these nutrients are enriched in the GM fruits and vegetables, the malnourished can meet their recommended dietary allowances.

The vitamin A enriched bananas are largely grown in East and Central African regions were genetically engineered.  these bananas also provide good calories to meet the energy deficiency.

GM fruits or vegetables can survive adverse dry weather conditions and hence can support during famine periods also.

Of the answers below, what is the smallest nucleotide sequence that could code for a protein with 300 amino acids?
ololo11 [35]
The nucleotide sequence would have to have 900 nucleotides in order to code for a protein of 300 amino acids. When translating RNA into proteins, RNA is read 3 bases at a time. Each group of 3 bases is a codon, and each codon codes for an amino acid. When read, the proper amino acid is added to a growing chain of amino acids, which will be folded to become a protein.

Therefore, 300 amino acids * 3 nucleotides per amino acid = 900 nucleotides.

What are the roles of covalent bonds and hydrogen bonds in the structure of DNA?
Vinil7 [7]
For the answer to the question above,
<span>DNA is made up of two nucleotide strands. The nucleotides are connected together by covalent bonds within each strand. The sugar of one nucleotide forms a covalent bond with the phosphate group of another. The two strands themselves are connected by hydrogen bonds. The hydrogen bonds are found between the bases of the two strands of nucleotides. Adenine forms hydrogen bonds with thymine whereas guanine forms hydrogen bonds with cytosine. This is called complementary base pairing</span>
