Answer: The mean absolute deviation of the data set is 8.8125

Step-by-step explanation:

First find the mean of the data by adding all data points together then divide by the number of data points. 5.00+7.50+8.25+8.00+9.75+10.25+11.00+10.75=70.5

70.5÷8=8.8125

Secondly, find the absolute value of the mean. In short, the absolute value of any number is the same number but positive.

Carl bought 24 daisies and roses. Daisies cost $0.25 each and roses cost $0.90 each. If
yuradex [85]

Answer:

Roses= $8.4

Daises= $15.6

Step-by-step explanation:

Let represent the daises and let r represent d roses

r + d= 24....equation 1

0.25r + 0.90d= 16.40.......equation 2

r= 25-d

Substitute 25-d for r in equation 2

0.25(25-d) + 0.90d= 16.40

6.25-0.25d+0.90d= 16.40

6.25+0.65d= 16.40

0.65d= 16.40-6.25

0.65d= 10.15

d= 10.15/0.65

d = 15.6

Sub 15.6 for d in equation 1

r+d= 24

r+15.6= 24

r= 24-15.6

= 8.4

Price of daises is $15.6

Roses is $8.4

If one half of an integer is added to one fifth of the next consecutive integer, the sum is 10. Find the integers.
Ivahew [28]
Let 1st integer be x and next consecutive be x+1
1/2•x + 1/5•(x+1) = 10
x/2 + x/5 + 1/5 = 10
-1/5 -1/5
x/2 + x/5 = 49/5
(x/2)•5/5 + (x/5)•2/2 = 49/5
5x/10 + 2x/10 = 49/5
7x/10 = 49/5
•10 •10
7x = 98
÷7 ÷7
x = 14 --> 1st integer
x+1 = 14+1 = 15 --> next consecutive integer

How do you find the area of a rectangular prism?
LuckyWell [14K]
Hey there!

Let's first define what area means. Area is for two-dimensional shapes, and expressions how big something is and to what extent. There are formulas that can measure area because these shapes are totally flat, and there's nothing more to measure.

However, when we have three-dimensional figures such as rectangular prisms, we use surface area. Surface area measures the total area that the object takes up, and is a sum of the areas of all the faces. The formula for surface area of a rectangular prism is:

2(lw + wh + lh)

So if we had:

L = 5
W = 6
H = 3

We would have:

A = 2(5×6 + 6 × 3 + 5×3) =
2(30 + 18 + 15) =
2(48 + 15) =
2(63) =
A = 126 units cubed

Notice how it's units cubed because there's 3 dimensions.

Hope this helps!
