A treaty among 105 nations needed to regulate international shippinh of hazardous wates in order to help prevent wastes from being dumped in developing nations.

Hazardous waste is waste that has substantial or potential threats to public health or the environment. Characteristic hazardous wastes are materials that are known or tested to exhibit one or more of hazardous traits such as: ignitability , reactivity , corrosivity  or toxicity.
