A. It's unwise for a person to make claims they can't support
Explanation:
I read the story, Arachne. I found that in Arachne, she boasts about how she is such a great weaver to Athena. Athena then challenges Arachne to a weaving contest. Athena weaves a beautiful masterpiece while Arachne makes fun of the gods for how much they drink. Arachne was unwise to make such claims that her weaving skills were better than anybody else. She couldn't support her claims which in turn, got her turned into a spider.
(hopefully that helped!! im really sorry if its wrong, if its wrong then my second best guess is D.)
In the the text, Arachne challenges the goddess Athena by saying she is a better weaver than Athena. Since, Athena was the goddess of weaving this angered her and she took the form of an old lady and approached her. She asks to do a weaving contest. Overconfident, Arachne did and wove a tapestry that depicted the gods infidelities and crimes. Athena, however depicted the gods greatest achievements. Both were beautiful, but the myth gets convoluted from here. So Athena either won, lost, or had a tie. Whatever the case is, Athena decided to curse her for her arrogance and turned her into a spider so she can weave forever.
