Answer:

Cytoplasm: Fluid between the cell membrane and the nucleus. helps protect organelles

Nucleus: A part of the cell containing hereditary information and is responsible for growth and reproduction; the "command center" of the cell.

Ribosome: A small particle in the cell that can make proteins.

Endoplasmic Reticulum: A cell structure that forms a maze of passageways in which proteins and other materials are carried from one part of the cell to another.

Golgi Apparatus: A cell structure that helps make and package materials to be transported out of the cell or for storage inside the cell.

Lysosome: Cell organelle filled with enzymes needed to break down certain materials in the cell, such as large food particles or old parts of the cell. May be found only in animal cells.

Vacuole: Saclike storage structure in the cell. can store water, nutrients, and even toxic substances.

Mitochondrion: An organelle containing enzymes responsible for producing energy. (Metabolism/respiration)

Chloroplast: An organelle found in the cells of plants and some other organisms that captures the energy from sunlight and converts it into chemical energy (photosynthesis).

Cell membrane: The thin, flexible barrier around a cell; controls what enters and leaves the cell.

Cell wall: The structure outside of the cell membrane that is used to provide support and protection. Present in plants, algae, fungi, and many prokaryotes.

Differentiate between density-dependent and
Setler [38]

Answer/Explanation:

Density-dependent limiting factors are non living and biotic factors that affect the size and growth of a population based on the population density, while density-independent limiting factors are those factors that do not depend on the density of a population before they can have an effect on the growth and size of the population.

Examples of density-dependent limiting factors are predation, disease, Parasitism, competition. These rely on the density of a population in order to affect the growth and size of a population.

On the other hand, examples of density-independent limiting factors are pollution, flood, temperature.

Which of the following statements regarding membrane protein function is FALSE?A) membrane proteins serves as enzymesB) membrane
Sever21 [200]

Answer: D)

Membrane proteins produce phospholids

Explanation:

Membrane proteins in the mitochondria do more than just generate cellular energy. The proteins in the membranes of the mitochondria are complex machines in the nanoworld that mediate the oxygen-coupled generation of energy in cells. Their role in this process is not yet understood in detail.

Membrane proteins perform a variety of functions vital to the survival of organisms: Membrane receptor proteins relay signals between the cell's internal and external environments. Transport proteins move molecules and ions across the membrane.
