Find the LCD  4 and 6 :

factor  each denominator into its primes:

4 = 2²
6 = 2 * 3

Find the least  common denominator 2² * 3 = 12

$\frac{3*3}{12} - \frac{2}{12}$ =

$\frac{3*3-2}{12}$ =

$\frac{9-2}{12}$ = 

$\frac{7}{12}$
