Suppose that the string of A nucleotides following the inverted repeat in a rho-independent terminator was deleted but that the

inverted repeat was left intact. How will this deletion affect termination? What will happen when RNA polymerase reached this region?

Answer: is seen below

Explanation:

Termination will not take place if the strings of A nucleotides following an inverted repeat of rho- independent termination ( which forms an hairpin structure)were deleted. Although, RNA polymerase may pause briefly at the hairpin, the presence of A- U base pairs is needed to destabilize the DNA - RNA interaction and to end transcription. If the string A nucleotides is not present, then transcription of RNA polymerase will continue.

Oxygen can be made directly from ultraviolet radiation through which process?
frez [133]

Answer:

Ozone

Explanation:

In the stratosphere, ozone is created primarily by ultraviolet radiation. When high-energy ultraviolet rays strike ordinary oxygen molecules (O2), they split the molecule into two single oxygen atoms, known as atomic oxygen.

Which is the mRNA molecule that would be transcribed from this DNA template TGGCAAGTACGT?
Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

(B) ACCGUUCAUGCA

Explanation:

Transcription is the one of the two stage involved in gene expression. It involves the synthesis of a mRNA molecule using a DNA template. The process of transcription is carried out by an enzyme called RNA polymerase which binds to the PROMOTER region of the DNA molecule and begins to synthesize RNA nucleotides based on what it reads on the DNA.

The addition of nucleotide bases on the RNA strand by RNA polymerase enzyme follows the COMPLEMENTARY BASE PAIRING RULE, which states that Adenine always pairs with Thymine while Guanine always pairs with Cytosine in a DNA molecule. In the case of transcription, the Uracil base replaces Thymine in the newly synthesized RNA. Hence, for every Adenine nucleotide read by RNA polymerase, it adds a Uracil nucleotide. The same goes for Thymine-Adenine, Cytosine-Guanine and Guanine-Cytosine i.e. A-U, G-C.

Based on this principle, a DNA template with a sequence: TGGCAAGTACGT will produce an mRNA molecule with sequence: ACCGUUCAUGCA

G6PD deficiency is an inherited condition in which the body doesn't have enough of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase,
Svetach [21]
The correct option is this: NATURAL SELECTION FAVOR G6PD DEFICIENCY AS COMPARED TO MALARIA.
As we are told in the passage given above, G6DP enzyme helps the red blood cells to function very well. So those people who lack this enzyme have red blood cells that are not functioning very well and this usually result in heamolytic aneaemia. Remember that the parasite that cause malaria normally need red blood cells to survive, thus, for people who lack G6DP malaria can not survive in their blood. Since lack of G6DP enzyme mostly occur in people of African origin where mosquitoes abound, researchers believe that the lack of G6DP enzyme in these people red blood cells is a natural selection method by which the body is preventing itself from been attacked by mosquitoes.
