Answer:

The given blanks can be filled with pathogenicity and virulence.

Explanation:

The tendency of an organism or a microbe to harm the host, which eventually results in disease is termed as pathogenicity. The concept of pathogenicity signifies the genetic constituent of the pathogen and the destruction resulting in the host because of the association between the host and the pathogen like a microbe.

While the extent to which a pathogen or a microbe causes pathogenicity to the host is termed as virulence. The degree of virulence is generally associated with the tendency of the microbe to proliferate within the host.

Answer: Pathogenicity; virulence

Explanation:

The pathogenicity of an organism ca be defined as the ability of the organism to cause disease. These organism can be bacteria, viruses, protozoa, fungus, viroid et cetera.

The small animals like larvae of some insets and the insect itself can be harmful and cause disease.

The virulence can be defined as the level of severity which is caused by an organism. How much the organism is fatal for the life of the other organism. Like of the bacterial species like E.coli are less virulent and causes less damage to the body but some of the bacterial species are C. botulinum is more virulent and can even lead to the death of the person or animal.

Both Duchenne muscular dystrophy and color blindness are caused by recessive alleles. DMD, unlike color blindness, nearly always
Ronch [10]

Answer: Although both are X-linked recessive conditions, and therefore more likely in males, with the single X-chromosome. The recessive allele in colour blindness occurs at a higher frequency in the population and is a mild condition. Thus colour blindness does occur to a lesser extent in females because it needs the double recessive condition. DMD is a severe, disabling condition with a limited lifespan, and recessive allele frequency much lower, so the double recessive condition in females is very rare.

Explanation: DMD is an X-linked recessive, “nearly always in males” suggest that it also occurs due to a new mutation or some rare condition e.g. double recessive from an affected father and carrier mother, or inactivation of the normal gene in a heterozygote. It is also found that the defective allele is not completely recessive and that female carriers may exhibit mild to moderate effects.

colour blindness is polygenic, although the genes are all X-linked. It is more common in males than females. Females can carry two recessive alleles and so express the phenotype, but this is uncommon because the frequency of the recessive gene is low.

There are similarities in that both are X-linked recessives, therefore commonly expressed in males, who only have one X chromosome. The gene frequency of the colour blindness recessive is much higher than that of DMD, so the double recessive condition, which affects females, is more likely to be seen with colour blindness. In addition, DMD is a severe condition associated with disability and limited lifespan, which reduces the probability of mating between an affected male and carrier female

Compare the environmental consequences related to obtaining the three major types of fossil fuels.
Allushta [10]
All three are bad for the environment because all three types release CO2 into the air and have throughout their constant usage helped with creating the greenhouse effect that traps heat and causes global warming. That's why clean energy is a necessity and people are developing harnessing wind and solar power.

No matter what happens to us, we
uysha [10]

Answer:Each of us has the power, through our own choices and actions, to save American lives and rescue the most vulnerable among us.

That’s why we really have to do what we all know is right.  Every citizen is being called upon to make sacrifices.  Every business is being asked to fulfill its patriotic duty.  Every community is making fundamental changes to how we live, work, and interact each and every day, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this going on long into the future, when this virus is gone and defeated.  Some of the things we’re doing now will be very good practice for the future, including for not getting the flu, which is very devastating also.  So some of what we’re learning now will live on into the future — I really believe that: shaking hands or not shaking hands; washing hands all the time; staying a little apart.
