What gives wind its mass?

Social Studies

Answer:

Wind is air in motion. It is produced by the uneven heating of the earth's surface by the sun. Since the earth's surface is made of various land and water formations, it absorbs the sun's radiation unevenly. Two factors are necessary to specify wind: speed and direction.Wind is caused by differences in the atmospheric pressure. When a difference in atmospheric pressure exists, air moves from the higher to the lower pressure area, resulting in winds of various speeds. On a rotating planet, air will also be deflected by the Coriolis effect, except exactly on the equator.

What areas of California are most susceptible to a devastating earthquake?
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

San Francisco, San Bernardino, Riversdale, Los Angeles , Big Sur, Sierra Nevada

Explanation:

All of these areas are located near the Two major faults in united states San Andreas and San Jacinto.

These faults creates a lot of friction/movement that made more than 80% of the total slip rate between the North American plates. These regions are considered to be very active and dangerous since many scientist believe they are capable to produce massive quakes with magnitudes of 8 or 9, which will create massive destruction to the cities located on top of them.

Why is the planet pluto not a planet anymore?
DaniilM [7]
I agree with the person above - the planet Pluto was considered to be quite small to even be called a planet. After scientists found objects in space which were similar in size to Pluto (and were not planets), they questioned the "planethood" of Pluto. After that, it became a dwarf planet, and not just a regular planet.

Explain the relationship between deforestation and clime change
vichka [17]

Answer:

Deforestation is a primary contributor to climate change.

Explanation:

Trees remove CO2 from the atmosphere when they photosynthesise, so without them less CO2 is removed. So deforestation means more CO2 in the atmosphere which leads to global warming or climate change.

A member of the House of Representatives (2 points)
Wittaler [7]
When you look at these two options:

must vote on all revenue bills according to how the majority political party decides

is not eligible to serve on any committee that contains members of another political party

These would mean that the majority party would face no opposition in the parliament; but this is not true; we can reject this option.

The other two options are similar but opposites. Which one is true?

The true description of the Members of the House of Representatives is the following:

is not required to be a resident of the district elected to represent but usually is by tradition

- they're not required to live in the district they represent.
