What was the ultimate goal of the United States in the 1914 mexican intervention?
Cerrena [4.2K]

The ultimate goal of the United States in their intervention in Mexico in 1914 was to have a neighbor that is stable, that they will be able to influence and control to a certain level, and protect their economic and political interest.

The intervention of the United States was a very variable and very controversial. They did not stick with one side to support, but instead they were changing sides, usually supporting the person in power, except when the French intervened too.

Also, the USA openly threatened Mexico that it will use military power in order to protect its interests and its citizens that own businesses and property in the country.

Which u.s policy decreased imports to the United States in the 1920 making it difficult for European nations to repay their war
GarryVolchara [31]
Tariffs on imports

The 1920s presidents began a system of tariffs on imported good to encourage spending on American goods only. However, with no trade, European countries were unable to make money.

Tariffs are taxes on imported goods. This is a common economic policy of conservatives.

Analyzing Individuals, Ideas, or Events in Informational Texts - Quiz - Level H
schepotkina [342]

The author tries to contextualize the changing pace of travel and what it has meant for travelling from a point to another.

Explanation:

The writer argues that because the people take less time to reach from point A to point B they actually have proportionally more time to stay or explore point B which was not a luxury provided before.

At the same time it sort of laments the impatience of this generation as we are so used to minimal travel times.

The older days had journeys usually lasting longer than the visit to a place itself with months and months spent on either a ship or a caravan.

This is not the case anymore and the journey has not remained meaningful. It is now literally just getting from point A to point B.
