Researchers wanted to determine if there was an association between the level of satisfaction of an individual and their risk of

diabetes. The researchers studied 1621 people over the course of 5 years. If this is so, then the genetic factor could be a lurking variable affecting directly the result of the observational experiment. Then the correct answer is:
