How did land obtainment lead to population shifts in Georgia
FrozenT [24]

Land lottery and head right system contributed to the shift in population in Georgia.

Explanation:

Georgia extended its boundaries towards the Mississippi river and the land beyond it was vast and it came under the control of Georgia and hence the government conducted land lotteries which earned them miniscule amount of money. Due to the open land lottery system, the demand for more lands grew and farmers decided to settle in the west of the river.

After the revolution that sprang up between British and Georgia, the lands were given as grants to the soldiers who fought against the British. Under the Yazoo act, lands were sold to farmers this caused a shift in population.
