Answer:

3x² - 7 is the answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have given the polynomial.

15x³ - 35x

We have to  divide the following polynomial by 5x.

For this, divide the polynomial by 5x we get,

(15x³-35x)/5x

Divide each term of given polynomial by 5x we get,

(15x³)/(5x) - (35x)/(5x)

(15x³-35x)/5x = 3x² - 7

3x²-7 is the answer when we divide the polynomial by 5x.

Answer:

Answer: 3x² - 7

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to divide 15x³  - 35x by 5x.

This can be done as follows:

\frac{15x^{3}-35x }{5x}

Splitting the given fraction, and simplifying the fractions we get:

\frac{15x^{3}}{5x}-\frac{35x}{5x}\\\\=3x^{2}-7

Therefore, we get 3x² - 7 as our answer when the give polynomial is divided by 5x

The second term in a geometric sequence is 20. The fourth term in the same sequence is 11.25. What is the common ratio
damaskus [11]
Let a_n be the n'th term of the sequence.

so a_1 is the first term, a_2 the second term and so on...

In a geometric sequence with a_1=c, and common ratio r, the terms are as follows:

a_1=c
a_2=cr
a_3=c r^{2}
a_4=c r^{3}
.
.
that is, each term is its previous term times the common ratio r.

In our example

a_2=cr=20 and a_4=c r^{3}=11.25

\frac{a_2}{a_4}= \frac{cr}{c r^{3}}= \frac{1}{ r^{2}}= \frac{20}{11.25}= 1.778

so r^{2} =1/1.778=0.56

r= \sqrt{0.56}= 0.75

Answer: r=0.75

Matt invested $1500 into a stock of his choice. After two years, he had received
EleoNora [17]

For this question, the time given confuses me.  I know the rate of return is just total return divided by divided by investment, Assuming that Matt received the $400 in dividends as cash payouts, and they weren't reinvested into buying shares of the stock, then his total return over two years was $500, Now, if Matt's dividends were reinvested into the stock - and if you have a 401(k) or IRA, that's what usually happens - then his ROI would have been only 6% because he only made a profit of $100 on an investment of $1500. Note:  In the real world, in current market conditions, Matt probably would have got about a 5% return on a good stock, and Bella would have received about 0.05% on a savings account.

hope this helped you ;)
