A pair of jeans was 30% off the original price. The sale resulted in a $24 discount.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We must consider the price of the Jeans as whole since it represents the full price of the jeans. The discount might be a limited only offer and does not represent the fullest price of the jeans.

To find the original price of the jeans we have two methods that in the end are going to lead to the same conclusion. The long method is to represent mathematically the information presented. Conceptually, we could interpret the statement saying that the original price minus 30% of the original price is equal to the original price minus the discount. Let us say the Original Price (OP)=x. then, mathematically we represent the statement as:

x -0,3*x = x -24

What we need to do now is to isolate x on one side of the equation. We have x as a common factor, so:

x*(1-0,3)=x-24 \rightarrow 24+x*0,7=x

24=x-0,7*x \rightarrow 24 = x*(1-0,7)

24 = 0,3*x \rightarrow 24/0,3 =x \rightarrow x=80

This one is the original price of the jeans: $80. There is a shortcut to this method, though. We know two things that are fundamental: the discount sale is $24 and the jeans are 30% off. These statements provide the same information; thus we can match them and say that:

24 = 0,3*x \rightarrow 24/0,3 =x \rightarrow x=80

And we find ourselves on the same conclusion.

Have a wonderful day :D

An acute triangle has two sides measuring 8 cm and 10 cm. What is the best representation of the possible range of values for th
Lunna [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Method

The smallest the third side can be is something just larger than 2

You get 2 by subtracting10 and 8. The third side is just a bit larger. 8 and 2 will make up the length of 10 so you cannot use 2 itself

The largest value possible is just under 18. You get 18 by adding 8 and 10 together. So to get a triangle, you need just under 18.

Find the distance between each pair of points. round your answer to the nearest tenth.
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

5.4

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the distance between each pair of points, we use the distance formula, which is:

d = \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^2 + (y_{2} -y_{1})^2  }

So we have

x_{1} = 2\\ x_{2} = 4\\y_{1} = 8\\y_{2}=3

When we plug in the values into the formula we get:

d = \sqrt{(4-2)^2 + (3-8)^2}

d = \sqrt{4 + 25}\\ =\sqrt{29}\\ =5.4

If a number is divisible by 2,5,10 what is the one digit of the number
viktelen [127]

Answer:

0

Step-by-step explanation:

As per divisibility rule, a number is divisible by 2 when one's place has the number 0,2,4,6 or 8

As per divisibility rule, a number is divisible by 5 when one's place has the number 0 or 5

As per divisibility rule, a number is divisible by 10 when one's place has the number 0

So, if a number is divisible by 2,5 and 10, then the number one's place should have 0

PLZ ASAP, I NEED HELP ASAP
loris [4]
I won't give you the answer because I am sure you are capable of finding it yourself once given a push, but what I would do is simplify all of the numbers into a mixed fraction (a b/c) and then go from there. Don't subtract the two numbers with the denominator of 25 first because they goes against PEMDAS. Change all of the fractions so they have like denominators, and once you solve it, just write the fraction part of the answer (b/c). If you have any other questions, just ask.
