Answer:

574.8 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

An average speed of Wilma from City A to City B =  60 miles per hour

She stayed in City B 15 hours.

An average speed of Wilma from City B to City A  =  35 miles per hour.

Whole time taken including 15 hours stay in city B = 41 hours

Question asked:

How many miles is City A from City B ?

Solution:

Total time taken including 15 hours stay in city B = 41 hours

Total time taken on the trip excluding stay in city B = 41 - 15 = 26 hour

Let time taken during from city A to city B = x

Time taken during from city B to city A = 26-x

As distance traveled from city A to city B is equal to distance traveled from  city B to city A:-

And by using : Distance=speed\times time

Distance traveled from city A to city B = Distance traveled from city B to A

speed\times time = speed\times time

60\times x=35(26-x)\\60x=910-35x

Adding both sides by 35x

95x=910

Dividing both sides by 95

x=9.58\ hours

Distance traveled from city A to city B = speed\times time

                                                               = 60 \times 9.58

                                                               = 574.8 miles

Therefore, there are 574.8 miles from City A to City B.
