9 right handed gloves and 3 left handed gloves were sold

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Let "x" be the number of right handed gloves sold

Let "y" be the number of left handed gloves sold

Cost of 1 right handed gloves = $ 45

Cost of 1 left handed gloves = $ 52

1 month 12 gloves were sold for a total of $561

So 12 gloves are sold

Therefore, frame a equation as,

number of right handed gloves sold + number of left handed gloves sold = 12

x + y = 12 -------- eqn 1

<em><u>They were sold for a total of $ 561</u></em>

number of right handed gloves sold x Cost of 1 right handed gloves + number of left handed gloves sold x Cost of 1 left handed gloves = 561

x \times 45 + y \times 52 = 561

45x + 52y = 561 --------- eqn 2

<em><u>Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2</u></em>

From eqn 1,

x = 12 - y ------------ eqn 3

<em><u>Substitute eqn 3 in eqn 2</u></em>

45(12 - y) + 52y = 561

540 - 45y + 52y = 561

7y = 561 - 540

7y = 21

<h3>y = 3</h3>

<em><u>Substitute y = 3 in eqn 3</u></em>

x = 12 - 3

<h3>x = 9</h3>

Thus 9 right handed gloves and 3 left handed gloves were sold

Solve for z.<br> -4z+1 = bz+c
blagie [28]

Answer:

\large\boxed{z=\dfrac{1-c}{4+b}}

Step-by-step explanation:

-4z+1=bz+c\qquad\text{subtract 1 from both sides}\\\\-4z=bz+c-1\qquad\text{subtract}\ bz\ \text{from both sides}\\\\-4z-bz=c-1\qquad\text{change the signs}\\\\4z+bz=1-c\qquad\text{distribute}\\\\(4+b)z=1-c\qquad\text{divide both sides by}\ (4+b)\neq0\\\\z=\dfrac{1-c}{4+b}

30% of Number A is the same as 40% of Number B.
Goryan [66]

30% of number A means

\dfrac{30A}{100}=\dfrac{3A}{10}

similarly, 40% of number B means

\dfrac{40B}{100}=\dfrac{2B}{5}

These must be equal, so we have

\dfrac{3A}{10}=\dfrac{2B}{5}

Multiply both sides by 10 to get

3A=4B \iff A=\dfrac{4B}{3}

So, you can choose any number for A, and then you multiply it by 4/3 to get B. There are infinitely many solutions to this equation.

Answer it pls and explain too
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

  y-intercept: (0, 5); slope: 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope (m) is found from ...

  m = (y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)

Using the first two points in the table, this is ...

  m = (8 -6)/(12 -4) = 2/8 = 1/4 . . . . . eliminates choices A and C

__

Then, the point-slope form of the equation of the line can be written as ...

  y -y1 = m(x -x1)

  y -6 = (1/4)(x -4) . . . fill in known values

  y = 1/4x -1 +6 . . . . . add 6

  y = 1/4x +5

Then the value of y when x=0 is ...

  y = 0 +5 = 5

So, the y-intercept is (0, 5) and the slope is 1/4, matching the last choice.
