Please help Math question 50 points! An employer provides two payment options for employees. Option A: Receive $200 the first we

ek. Receive an additional $50 for each of the following weeks. Option B: Receive $200 the first week. Receive an additional 10% for each of the following weeks. 1. Complete the tables to show how much money would be received for both payment options, each week, for 6 weeks. Option A: Week 1 2 3 4 5 6 Amount Paid Option B: Week 1 2 3 4 5 6 Amount Paid Answer: 2. Suppose you are a new employee. You notice that each payment option describes a sequence and decide to use rules to help determine which option to take. (a) Determine the iterative rule for each sequence. Show your work. (b) Your friend trusts your tables in Problem 1, but wonders if you wrote the iterative rules correctly. Show two calculations to convince your friend that both your rules work. Answer: 3. Consider the iterative rules you wrote in Problem 2. (a) Explain why the rules are functions. (b) Your friend says that because the rules are functions, they can be graphed and must have y-intercepts. How would you respond to your friend’s comment? (c) Your friend uses your rules to determine the outputs when the inputs are 18.5. Explain why her outputs are meaningless in this situation. What would you tell her about the inputs she can use? Answer: 4. The longest amount of time employees can work under Option A or Option B is 20 weeks. After employees work 20 weeks, they can either quit or keep making the same amount they made during Week 20. If an employee plans on quitting after 20 weeks, which payment option gives the greatest total income? Explain. Answer:

Answer:

it could be and to show his number two because it's running all those numbers up over and over again by percentage is that the end is going to give you a big number

Step-by-step explanation:

on the beginning is adding 200 + 50 we should give you 250 then is a 200 more so it was equals to 450 but then he asked you per week you get 50 extra so is basically 50 x 6 cylinder 6 weeks and I will give you a promise off $300 $300 + 450 equals to 750 each week is 10% so is basically equals to 50 so 50 + 50 + 50 + 50 or the easiest way is 50 * 6 I would go with answer to like I said because it's showing like a little of of a conversation was not given in any Solution on a specific number and that's the most closest one to like the whole problem

(a) You're supposed to find the pattern here. Use the slope-intercept form of the equation of a line. y=mx+b. In this situation, x is the week, and y is the amount paid. If you wanted, you could use whichever variables you wanted, of course. Basically, you need to find the slope, represented by m, which is the amount the amount paid increases by each week, and the y-intercept, b, which is the "amount paid" at week 0. (The y-intercept doesn't really make sense in this situation, but we'll get to that later.) You can use the formula m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1). (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are the input/output pairs. The x-coordinate is the week, and the y coordinate is the amount paid. Because the weeks are incrementing by 1, x2-x1=1. Because of this, you can just subtract the values and find out the slope is 50/week. After that, to complete the rule, you need to find the y-intercept. If the amount paid is 200 on week 1, and the amount paid increases by 50 each week, then you should be able to work backwards. 200-50=150
Another way to think about it is by plugging your points into the incomplete rule. Let b represent the y-intercept. Plug in the values for week 1 and solve for b.
Your work would probably look something like:
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
(x1,y1)=(1,200)
(x2,y2)=(2,250)
m=(250-200)/(2-1)
=50/1
=50
y=50x+b
200=50(1)+b
200=50+b
b=200-50
=150
y=50x+150
(b) If I understand the question correctly, you have to show two instances that prove that your rule work. Just pick any two weeks, like weeks 3 and 4 and show how the rule is correct.
y=50x+150
x=3
y=50(3)+150
=150+150
=300
(This is the same value that's in the chart, which proves that the rule works. Do the same thing with another week.)
3.
(a) The rules are functions because each input has only one output. You can test this out, it's true.
(b) So we did have to find the "y-intercept" earlier. But you have to look at the domain. There won't be any amount paid on Week 0, payment starts at Week 1. So you would have to respond that yes, they can be graphed, but there's no y-intercept; the graph starts at week 1. Aditionally, there are only data points at the integer values of x. Look at part c.
(c) The outputs are meaningless because you're counting the time by weeks. There won't be any amount paid in the middle of the week, so she can only use integer inputs.

What is the mean of this data set? {14, 7, 2, 8, 3} Enter your answer as a decimal in the box.
Assoli18 [71]

The mean of the data set is 6.8.

What is the mean?

Mean is the average value of the given set of observations. In statistics, we also come across different types of mean such as Arithmetic, Geometric and Harmonic mean.

Given

The data set is 14, 7, 2, 8, 3.

The mean of the data set is given by;

\rm Mean = \dfrac{Sum \ of \ all \ data}{Number \ of \ data}\\\\Mean =\dfrac{14+7+2+8+3}{5}\\\\Mean = \dfrac{34}{5}\\\\Mean=6.8

Hence, the mean of the data set is 6.8.

A sea lion dove from the water's surface at sea level to an altitude of −216.12 meters in 2.4 minutes. What is the average chang
alexandr1967 [171]
2.4 minutes is 144 seconds. divide -216.12 by it to get altitude per second. This is 1.5 meters per second. Multiply this by 60 to get the rate per minute, totaling 90.05 meters per minute. Sorry if this explanation was long that was how I remember.
