Gross weekly income of Maurice Vaughn = $785
State tax deduction = 2% of $785
                                =(2/100) * 785 dollars
                                = 15.79 dollars
City tax deduction = 1% of $785
                             = (785/100) dollars
                             = 7.85 dollars
Retirement fund deduction = 3% of $785
                                           = (3/100) * 785 dollars
                                           = 23.55 dollars
FICA tax deduction = $42.25
Income tax deduction = $90.33
Then
Net income for one week = 785 - (42.25 + 90.33 + 15.79 + 7.85 + 23.55) dollars
                                         = 785 - 179.77 dollars
                                         = 605.23 dollars

Why is the sum of a rational number and a irrational number always irrational
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

A rational number is a number able to be put into a fraction, an irrational number is not able to be. Therefore, when adding the two, the rational and the irrational will be irrational. For example, 2 is a rational number, and 1.8903 is irrational. If you add the two, you will get 3.18903, which is unable to be put into a fraction.
