If the U.S had been poor in natural resources, how would industrialization have been affected?

You cannot make many other materials such as necklaces or stone materials because of lack of resource and factories would close down.

I believe if the US had been poor in natural resources Industrialization would have occurred much later and would've been a slower process. I also believe when Industrialization did occur later on it would've been foreign resources that helped instead of the US' Natural Resources.
