I believe it is a autobiography because it is told by the person because they know all of the details and events that happened...? I am not 100% sure I am just trying to help.

I expected it to end with none of the humans turning out to be ailen after all. I thought that maybe there was aliens, but they were messing with the people of the town to make them push the blame on eachother.
Young Mary Lennox is orphaned by an earthquake in India and sent to England to live with her uncle in a cold ancestral manor in Yorkshire.
