The Christian attitude towards women and men not having equal rights is due to the teachings within the bible.
In the bible, men are seen as the strong and almighty and this heavily places in with gender roles.
For example, women are meant to birth and raise children and take care of the household whereas men are meant to work, earn money and be the leader of the household.
1 Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
Colossians 3:18
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Ephesians 5:22-33
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.

So most of the aid aimed for people suffering from famine goes into wrong hands thus causing repetitive famines.
Famine is a shortage of food caused by a few reasons among which are can be drought, population imbalance, the political situation in the country, production failure.
People fight over stuff because they want it. For example I take your favorite things, You will fight for it because it is valuable to you.
