5(x + 2/3) = 3x - 2/3.....distribute the 5 through the parenthesis
5x + 10/3 = 3x - 2/3 ....subtract 3x from both sides
5x - 3x + 10/3 = 3x - 3x - 2/3...combine like terms
2x + 10/3 = - 2/3 ....subtract 10/3 from both sides
2x + 10/3 - 10/3 = -2/3 - 10/3...simplify
2x = - 12/3....reduce
2x = - 4....divide both sides by 2
x = -4/2....reduces to -2

or this way...
5(x + 2/3) = 3x - 2/3.....distribute
5x + 10/3 = 3x - 2/3....multiply by lowest common denominator of 3
15x + 10 = 9x - 2 ....subtract 9x from both sides
15x - 9x + 10 = -2 ...subtract 10 from both sides
6x + 10 - 10 = -2 - 10...simplify
6x = -12.....divide both sides by 6
x = -12/6 reduces to -2

Two parts Someone please help!!!!!
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

Part one: The function rule for the area of the rectangle is A(x) = 3x² - 2x

Part two: The area of the rectangle is 8 feet² when its width is 2 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Assume that the width of the rectangle is x

∵ The width of the rectangle = x feet

∵ The length of the rectangle is 2 ft less than three times its width

→ That means multiply the width by 3, then subtract 2 from the product

∴ The length of the rectangle = 3(x) - 2

∴ The length of the rectangle = (3x - 2) feet

∵ The area of the rectangle = length × width

∴ A(x) = (3x - 2) × x

→ Multiply each term in the bracket by x

∵ A(x) = x(3x) - x(2)

∴ A(x) = 3x² - 2x

∴ The function rule for the area of the rectangle is A(x) = 3x² - 2x

∵ The rectangle has a width of 2 ft

∵ The width = x

∴ x = 2

→ Substitute x by 2 in A(x)

∵ A(2) = 3(2)² - 2(2)

∴ A(2) = 3(4) - 4

∴ A(2) = 12 - 4

∴ A(2) = 8

∴ The area of the rectangle is 8 feet² when its width is 2 feet

Need Help ASAP). □ ABC is transformed to □ DBE. I posted a picture of the design and questions A, B, and question C. ( Will Mark
salantis [7]

Answer:

A)A reflection can be used to create DBE

B)The Angles are congruent, as the transformation was rigid, which preserves angle measure and side length.

C)All the angles are corresponding to the second figure as well as the sides. (name all the sides and angles that are corresponding)

Ex: ABC=DBE

Hope this helps!
