The enrollment at a high school for the year 2007 is approximately 1500. The growth of the school population can be represented

by the equation P = 1500(1.04)x where x represents the years after 2007. After how many years will the population of the school be approximately 1900?

Given equation:
P=1500 (1.04)^x
When have to find x, when population, p=1900
Put value of P=1900 in above equation.
1900=1500(1.04)^x
Divide both sides by 1500
19/15=(1.04)^x
1.27=(1.04)^x
Take natural log.
ln(1.27)= ln(1.04)^x
ln(1.27)=x ln (1.04)
Divide both sides by ln (1.04)
x=6 years

Answer: 6 years

Announcements for 84 upcoming engineering conferences were randomly picked from a stack of IEEE Spectrum magazines. The mean len
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

You need to construct a 95% CI for the population mean of the length of engineering conferences.

The variable has a normal distribution.

The information given is:

n= 84

x[bar]= 3.94

δ= 1.28

The formula for the Confidence interval is:

x[bar]±Z_{1-\alpha/2}*(δ/n)

Lower bound(Lb): 3.698

Upper bound(Ub): 4.182

Error bound: (Ub - Lb)/2 = (4.182-3.698)/2 = 0.242

I hope it helps!

If m(-12) =0 is the result of M(x) using the reminder theorem then what do -12 and 0 represent?
lions [1.4K]

Suppose we wish to determine whether or not two given polynomials with complex coefficients have a common root. Given two first-degree polynomials a0 + a1x and b0 + b1x, we seek a single value of x such that

Solving each of these equations for x we get x = -a0/a1 and x = -b0/b1 respectively, so in order for both equations to be satisfied simultaneously we must have a0/a1 = b0/b1, which can also be written as a0b1 - a1b0 = 0. Formally we can regard this system as two linear equations in the two quantities x0 and x1, and write them in matrix form as

Hence a non-trivial solution requires the vanishing of the determinant of the coefficient matrix, which again gives a0b1 - a1b0 = 0.

Now consider two polynomials of degree 2. In this case we seek a single value of x such that

What is the minimum amount of real solutions a quintic polynomial can have
vodomira [7]

Answer:

1

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm not sure if this is right, but I think it's 1. If you think about the simplest quintic polynomial, x^5, and set it to any real number, you'll always get 1 solution. I don't think it's possible to have 0 or no real solutions. Hope this helps!
