This period of Pax Romana allowed the Empire to achieve its greatest economic development and its greatest territorial extent.

The Pax Romana was a period of roughly 200 years (from around 27 BC to 180 AD) during which the entire Roman Empire was at peace and not expanding. This was unprecedented and allowed for domestic growth.
