Bob Ewell was killed by Boo Radley, who stuck a kitchen knife into his chest on the night of Halloween. Bob wanted to get revenge on Atticus for trying to kill the children who were walking back from a Halloween school party.

Which sentence exemplifies the logical fallacy "fear"?
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

If we don't elect Mrs. Smith to the senate, we will definitely see a rise in taxes.

Explanation:

According to Clinical psychologist Rian McMullin, "Logical fallacies are unsubstantiated assertions that are often delivered with a conviction that makes them sound as though they are proven facts." The statement above uses the rise in taxes which is something that people are scared of. The assertion appears to be factual but it simply a campaign style to promote a candidate.

Which line from “The Medicine Bag” best illustrates Martin’s conflict with Grandpa’s arrival?
elena-s [515]

Answer:

B.“His get-up wasn’t out of place on the reservation, but it sure was here, and I wanted to sink right through the pavement.”

Explanation:

The short story "The Medicine Bag" by Virginia Driving Hawk Sneve tells the story of a young boy named Martin who used to brag about his Sioux grandfather Joe Iron Shell. But his demeanor changed the moment his grandfather decided to come to his home in person.

Martin loved talking about his grandfather, telling his friends who have a picture of Martin's grandfather as someone larger than life, making <em>"Grandpa and the reservation sound  glamorous"</em>. And everything went well as long as grandpa stayed in the reservation but the moment he decided to visit Martin's family in Iowa, he felt unsure. This is because his friends will now see the real grandfather he had boasted so much about and then see the reality of the man they had thought to be an impressive and great man. The main conflict is shown when Martin admitted he <em>"wanted to sink right through the pavement"</em>. He felt ashamed of the way his grandfather had dressed, admitting that his get-up was out of place for his neighborhood even if it wasn't for the reservation.

Thus, the correct answer is option B.

Why is crown the antagonist in he play Antigone?
erastova [34]

The answer you are searching for is:

Creon is Antigone's uncle in the play Antigone and is ultimately responsible for her death. Antigone is the daughter of Oedipus, whose sin of accidentally having sex with his mother is arguable responsible for the curse that appears to plague his descendants. Creon is Oedipus's brother, and is currently the king of Thebes; he is committed to maintaining the peace in his kingdom. Just prior to Creon's rule, Antigone's brothers, Eteocles and Polynices, had engaged in a bloody battle for control of Thebes. When both brothers died and Creon assumed power, Creon decreed that only Eteocles would receive a burial; Polynices would be left to rot.

Antigone disobeyed her uncle and insisted upon burying Polynices anyway. Creon did everything he could to dissuade her, but ultimately could not convince her to give up her quest to bury her brother. The central point of the play is that Antigone believes in doing what she knows to be right, whereas Creon believes in doing what is necessary to maintain the peace in Thebes. Because Creon is committed to this goal, Antigone ultimately dies, making Creon ultimately the villain of the play.

Hope this helps!!
