Lo que yo creo es que el surgimiento y desarrollo del liberalismo y nacionalismo en Europa fueron componentes importantes para lograr las transformaciones políticas en el continente, ya que sirvieron de elementos constantes cuyas pugnas ayudaron a definir el rumbo político de diversas naciones Europeas.

Recordemos que los nacionalistas Europeos pugnaban por mantener intacto el derecho de las naciones para crear un Estado libre e independiente, desprendiendo sus ideas más notaras del periodo de la Ilustración, con ideas de Voltaire, Jhon Lock, Juan Jacobo Ruso y Montesquieu.

El nacionalismo pugnó por una Europa unificada y centralizada. Hasta se llegó a pensar en una unificación de territorios bajo el nombre tentativo de Estados Unidos Europeos.

Ambas corrientes ideológicas sirvieron para forjar la vida política de diferentes naciones Europeas.
