Your answer would be 2, -2.

8x^2 - 4 = 28

8x^2-4+4=28+4

8x^2 = 32

\frac{8x^2}{8}=  \frac{32}{8}  


x^2 = 4

x = +/4 

x = 2 or x = -2

2 , -2 would be the answer! :)
