Where does the charge on a protein come from?

The charge on the protein is the sum of all positive charges and negative charges on the amino acids it contains. Proteins are composed of several amino acids that contains different functional groups. These groups may have positive, negative or neutral charges depending on the pH it is in.

so the results of Hershey and Chase's experiments were that genes are made from Deoxyribonucleic Acid.
