2.5 ft.

a rectangle's area is Length • Width

8.5 = 3.4 \times x
8.5 \div 3.4 = x
2.5 = x

Answer:

Area of rectangle is equal to multiply the length by width

i.e A = l\times w           .....[1]

where

A is the area of rectangle ,

l is the length and

w is the width of the rectangle respectively.

Given : Area of rectangular do pen(A) = 8\frac{1}{2} = \frac{17}{2} square feet and width(w) = 3\frac{2}{5} = \frac{17}{5} feet.

To calculate the length in feet.

Substitute the given values in [1],  we get

\frac{17}{2}= l\times \frac{17}{5}

Multiply both sides by \frac{5}{17} we get;

l = \frac{17}{2} \times \frac{5}{17} =\frac{5}{2} = 2\frac{1}{2} feet.

Therefore, the length in feet is, 2\frac{1}{2}

snow_tiger [21]
To find the number of bracelets Mia can make, she will convert 5 yards to inches and then break that into groups of 18 inches.

5 x 36 = 180 inches

180/18= 10

Mia can make 10 bracelets.

qaws [65]

Answer (numbers needed in boxes, going from top to bottom):

1

-1

-3

3

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) is another way of saying y. So, the table is asking, "when substituting these x values for the x's in the function, what does y equal?" So, to answer the question, substitute each x value into the equation and solve.

1) Start with the x value of 1. Substitute 1 for x in y = 2x - 1 and solve:

y = 2(1)-1\\y = 2 - 1\\y = 1\\

So, when x equals 1, y equals 1. Therefore, the first box on the top must be filled out with the number 1.

2) Do the same with the rest of the x values. Here are the steps to solve each one, going in order from the top towards the bottom:

x = 0

y = 2(0) - 1\\y = 0 - 1\\y = -1

x = -1

y = 2(-1) - 1\\y = -2 -1 \\y = -3\\

x = 2

y = 2(2)-1\\y = 4-1\\y = 3\\

In the equation x/35 = 7, what is the value of x?<br> a. 7<br> b. 245<br> c. 35<br> d. 5
Marianna [84]
<span>So we wan't to get the value of x in the equation x/35=7. To get x we need to multiply both sides of the equation with 35 and then we get: x=7*35. So after multiplying we get x= 245. To check the solution lets divide 245/7=35. So the correct answer is b. 245.</span>
