Answer:

Area of rectangle is equal to multiply the length by width

i.e A = l\times w           .....[1]

where

A is the area of rectangle ,

l is the length and

w is the width of the rectangle respectively.

Given : Area of rectangular do pen(A) = 8\frac{1}{2} = \frac{17}{2} square feet and width(w) = 3\frac{2}{5} = \frac{17}{5} feet.

To calculate the length in feet.

Substitute the given values in [1],  we get

\frac{17}{2}= l\times \frac{17}{5}

Multiply both sides by \frac{5}{17} we get;

l = \frac{17}{2} \times \frac{5}{17} =\frac{5}{2} = 2\frac{1}{2} feet.

Therefore, the length in feet is, 2\frac{1}{2}

What is true of the function g(x)=-2x^2+5?
mart [117]

Answer:

C) The variable x represents the independent variable.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given function is g(x)=-2x^2+5.

g(x) is NOT the multiplication of g and x because g is a function of x.

x is the input of the function.

-2x^2+5 is the output of the function.

The variable x is called the independent variable because we plug in values of x to find g.

The variable g represents the output of the function NOT the input.

The correct choice is C
