#1)

Answer:

y=2 and x=-7

Explanation:

x-3y=-13

-x+4y=15

In this system, it would be recommended to use elimination because both x’s in the system can eliminate one another. After the eliminations of x, the system adds together the remainder of the system:

x-3y=-13

-x+4y=15

—————

(0)x+y=2 <-0x=0 so x has been eliminated.

y=2

Now, we have found y, so to find x, we will use substitution in one of the original equations. (It doesn’t matter which)

x-3y=-13

x-3(2)=-13 Solve for x.

x-6=-13

x=-7

#2)

Answer:

y=1 and x=5

Explanation:

x=5y

3x-4y=11

This system probably would use substitution. The x value has already been given in terms of y(x=5y), so all that’s left to do is substitute x in the other equation(3x-4y=11).

Substitute:

3(5y)-4y=11

Solve for y:

15y-4=11

15y=15

y=1

Now that we have the value of y, we can substitute y in one of the original equations in the system to solve for x. (Doesn’t matter which equation).

x=5y

x=5(1)

x=5

Which statement accurately describes current electricity?
vivado [14]

Answer:C

Step-by-step explanation: Current electricity is caused by flowing negatively charged particles. The negatively charged particles that are responsible for the flow of electricity are called electrons.

The force is equal at all points in the field as the field lines are parallel in a uniform field. So, negatively charged particles will move in the opposite direction to the current.

Hence, the correct answer is "C. It is caused by flowing negatively charged particles."

Solve for X and determine the measure of each angle.
X
(x - 35)
X
(2x - 75°)
Usimov [2.4K]

it's a quadrilateral

interior angles add up to 360

x + 2x - 75 + x + x - 35 = 360

5x - 110 = 360

5x = 360 + 110

x = 470 ÷ 5

x = 95

and x - 35 = 60

2x - 75

= 190 -75

= 115

segment DF is dilated from the origin to create segment D prime F prime at D′ (0, 6) and F′ (4.5, 3). What scale factor was segm
Andrei [34K]

Answer: 1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

From the attached graph:

D = (0, 4)

F = (3, 2)

After segment DF was dilated from the origin to create segment D'F'

D' = (0, 6)

F' = (4.5, 3)

Scale factor is obtained by calculating the proportion of the coordinates of the two segments. That is ;

Scale factor = value on dilated coordinate / value on original coordinate

Taking the x-coordinate of F and F':

Scale factor = coordinate 'x' of F' / coordinate 'x' of F

Scale factor = 4.5 / 3 = 1.5

Similarly,

Taking the y-coordinate of F and F':

Scale factor = coordinate 'y' of F' / coordinate 'y' of F

Scale factor = 3 / 2 = 1.5

The blueprint for a new swimming pool uses the scale 3/4 inch = 2 feet. If the actual dimensions of the pool will be 8 ft wide b
weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

The dimensions of the pool on the blueprint would be 3 in wide by 4.5 in long.

Step-by-step explanation:

First I turned 3/4 into a decimal, which would be 0.75. The I divided the dimensions of the pool by two. This way I could multiply the .75 by how many sets of two feet there were in the dimensions. Finally I multiplied 4 by .75 and I multiplied 6 by .75. That is how I found my answer.
