Answer:

The equation that he could be used to solve the problem is:

                           5n+30n+50n=340

Step-by-step explanation:

If n represents the number of nickels Janet has.

Hence n nickels=0.05n dollars.

Then the number of dimes he has is: 3n

( Since, Janet has three times as many dimes as nickels )

Also, 1 dime=0.10 dollars

Hence, 3n dime= 0.30n dollars)

and the number of quarters he has is: 2n

(He has twice as many quarters as nickels

Also, 1 quarter=0.25 dollars

Hence, 2n quarter=0.50n dollars. )

Hence, we have ,

0.05n+0.30n+0.50n=3.40

On multiplying both side of the equation by 100 we have:

                      5n+30n+50n=340

5n +10(3n) +25(2n) = 340 . . . . will solve the problem

This simplifies to
5n +30n +50n = 340

Drag each tile to the correct location on the table. Each tile can be used more than once, but not all tiles will be used. Lewis
son4ous [18]

The fill up for the 3rd  step is y - 250 =  340x.

  • The fill up of the 5th step is x = \frac{y-250}{340}
  • The fill up of the 6th step  is \frac{8750-250}{340} = 25 = x, \frac{8750-250}{340}= 34 = x
  • The justification for the 2nd step is subtraction PE.
  • The justification for the 4th step is division PE.

What is the simplification  about?

Note that:

y-250 = 250 + 340 x - 250

y = 250 + 340x.

Make x the subject of the formula:

y - 250 =  340x.

then y-250/340 = x

Then  x = \frac{y-250}{340}

The justification for the second step is subtraction property of equality because it undergoes subtraction and the collection of like terms and then subtracting them from one another as shown below:

y-250 = 250 + 340 x - 250

y= 250 + 340x - 250 + 250

Note that (-250 + 250) = 0

y = 250 + 340x.

Lastly, The fill up of the 6th step is substitution of the amount of money saved and then simplifying it.

AABC is a right triangle. If AC = 15 and BC = 17, find AB.
Schach [20]

Answer:

AC=15

BC=17

AB=?

According to Pythagore's Theorem: AB² + AC² = BC².

AB² = BC² - AC²

= (17)² - (15)²

= 289 - 225

AB² = 64

AB = √(64)

= 8.

So AB = 8.
