However, some men were exempted from the draft. Clergymen, teachers and some classes of industrial worker were not required to join. These roles were described as ‘Scheduled (or reserved) Occupations’ and included coal miners, doctors, and those working in the iron and steel industries which produced vital ammunition and equipment for the war.

Answer:

Judaism: Would have been closer to Christianity, if there were not sever persecution of Jewish ethnic groups (Holocaust, just one example) and of the religion throughout history.

Christianity was spread across the world by European explores and conquerors, many people believing in Christianity like native Americans were forced to assimilate. (Think of Columbus, and Cortez, Spanish imperialism)

Hinduism was not spread nor was persecuted against hence it stayed where it was created and grew with that singular population. (More peaceful and spiritual, especially compared to Christianity)
