The New England Colonies were formed by the Puritans, who could practice and follow religious freedom with strict beliefs. Puritans separated themselves from the Church of England after seeing too many practices of the Catholic Church even after getting divided from it. Puritans tried to reform the Church but could not, which led them to find a better place to follow their zeal. In the New England Colonies, the settlers were majority puritans in Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay colonies and many others.
