Answer;

Reduces the amount of work needed to move an object.

Explanation;

 • A simple machine is any device that reduces human effort to do work. They include, levers, inclined plane, pulleys, etc.
 • Simple machines make work easier by multiplying, reducing, or changing the direction of a force and also by changing the distance the force acts through.
 • Simple machines cannot change the amount of work done, however, they can reduce the effort force that is required to do the work. This is to mean, machines can neither increase or reduce the energy involved in doing work.

Carbon dioxide contains chemical bonds between oxygen and carbon. What particles are between the carbon and oxygen atoms? What k
natka813 [3]

Explanation: i stuck at this Answer:Sometimes atoms share more than one pair of electrons, for example a double covalent bond can occur, as in the carbon dioxide molecule where carbon shares 2 pairs of electrons with each oxygen atom: O=C=O. (where = represents a double bond). Another kind of covalent bonding is called co-ordinate or dative covalent.

6)Explain why a 0.010 M solution of hydrochloric acid, HCl has a pH of 2.00 but a 0.010 M solution of
ExtremeBDS [4]

0.010 M solution of hydrochloric acid, HCl has a pH of 2.00 but a 0.010 M solution of acetic acid, HCH₃COO, is 3.37 is because HCl dissociates more.

Dissociation

This is the separation of ions of an ionic compound when it dissolves.

Hydrogen ion concentration of HCl

Since 0.010 M solution of hydrochloric acid, HCl has a pH of 2.00 its hydrogen ion concentration is gotten from

pH = -log[H⁺]

So,

[H^{+} ] = 10^{-pH}

So, [H⁺] = 10⁻²

Hydrogen ion concentration of HCH₃COO

Also, since 0.010 M solution of acetic acid, HCH₃COO, has a pH of 3.37, its hydrogen ion concentration is gotten from

pH = -log[H⁺]

So,

[H^{+} ] = 10^{-pH}

So, [H⁺] = 10⁻³°³⁷ = 0.000427 = 4.27 × 10⁻⁴

Since the hydrogen ion concentration of HCl is 10⁻² and the hydrogen ion concentration of HCH₃COO is 4.27 × 10⁻⁴, we see that HCl dissociates more than HCH₃COO.

So, 0.010 M solution of hydrochloric acid, HCl has a pH of 2.00 but a 0.010 M solution of acetic acid, HCH₃COO, is 3.37 is because HCl dissociates more.
