We can use long division in finding the remainder.

Place the divisor which is 41, outside the long division sign, and 694 under the long division sign as shown in the diagram.

41 goes into 694 16 times.

Write the 16 on top of the long division sign.

Multiply the 16 by 41, to obtain 656

Write the 656 below the 694 as in the diagram.

Subtract 656 from 694 to obtain 38.

Since 41 is more than 38 , we cannot proceed.

Hence,

\frac{694}{41}=16\:\:Remainder\:\:38

Therefore the remainder is 38

16... Remainder of 38

41 x 16 = 656 therefore 38 left over

A cone has a volume of 24 cubic inches. What is the volume of a cylinder that the cone fits exactly inside of?
Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

72 cubic inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cone = \frac{1}{3}\pi r^{2} h   --1

Volume of cylinder = \pi r^{2} h  --2

We are given that a cylinder should fit exactly inside the cone

On comparing 1 and 2 we can see:

\text{Volume of cone}= \frac{1}{3} \text{Volume of cylinder}

Since we are given the volume of cone is 24 cubic inches .

So, 24= \frac{1}{3} \text{Volume of cylinder}

24 \times 3= \text{Volume of cylinder}

72= \text{Volume of cylinder}

Hence the volume of cylinder is 72 cubic inches

Option D is correct.

Lines m and n are parallel. find the value of x.<br> A. 15<br> B. 20<br> C. 65<br> D. 115
torisob [31]

Answer:

Option B, x = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1:  Make an equation</u>

The values of 65 degrees and (3x + 5) are equal.

65 = 3x + 5

<u>Step 2:  Subtract 5 from both sides</u>

65 - 5 = 3x + 5 - 5

60 = 3x

<u>Step 3:  Divide both sides by 3</u>

60 / 3 = 3x / 3

<em>20 = x</em>

<em />

Answer:  Option B, x = 20
