PLS mark as brainliest

Sandra got more. We don't use subtraction or division in this.

We directly check - is 1.25 more or 1.05.

So in statements  it can be written like this-

Weight of candy Sandra purchased - 1.25

Weight of candy her friend purchased - 1.05

Therefore 1.25 is greater because the tenth decimal place is having greater value.

You would subtract.

The question is asking who has more, so to find out, you need to take away the smaller amount from the bigger amount. (1.25-1.05)

So Sandra bought more candy. Hope this helps!

5. Which of the following linear functions has a graph which passes through points (−5,−2) and (−3,0)?
sergeinik [125]

Answer:

f(x) = x + 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Points (−5,−2) and (−3,0)

Required

Find a linear function that passes through the given points

The question implies that we solve for the equation for the line;

First, the slope of the line must be calculated;

This is calculated as thus:

m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}

Where (x_1,y_1) = (-5,-2)\ and\ (x_2,y_2) = (-3,0)

So, m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} becomes

m = \frac{0 - (-2)}{-3 - (-5)}

m = \frac{0 + 2}{-3 + 5}

m = \frac{2}{2}

m = 1

The equation of the line can then be calculated using any of the given points;

Using

m = \frac{y - y_1}{x - x_1}

Where\ (x_1,y_1) = (-5,-2)\ and\ m =1

We have

1 = \frac{y-(-2)}{x-(-5)}

1 = \frac{y+2}{x+5}

Multiply both sides by x + 5

(x+5)*1 = \frac{y+2}{x+5} * (x+5)

x + 5 = y + 2

Subtract 2 from both sides

x + 5 - 2 = y + 2 - 2

x + 3 = y

y = x + 3

Replace y with f(x)

f(x) = x + 3

Hence, from the list of given options; Option B is correct

(9x – 9)<br> (3x + 9)°/B<br> Find the measure of ABC
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

<ABC = 54 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

Taking the sum of angle on the straight line ABD as 180 degrees

3x+9 + 9x - 9 =180

12x = 180

x = 180/12

x =  15 degrees

Since <ABC = 3x+9 (vertically opposite angles)

<ABC = 3(15)+9

<ABC = 45+9

<ABC = 54 degrees

If s(x) = x – 7 and t(x) = 4x2 – x + 3, which expression is equivalent to (ToS) (x)
Gnoma [55]
In order to find the expression that is equivalent to (t*s)(x), use the following steps:
s(x) = x - 7t(x) = 4x^2 - x + 3
(t*s)(x) = t(s(x)) = t(x - 7) = 4(x - 7)^2 - (x - 7) + 3 = 4(x - 7)^2 - x + 7 + 3
The correct result would be 4(x – 7)2 – (x – 7) + 3.

What is 1 1/3 x 1 3/4
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I like to convert them to improper fractions first, so that will make 1 1/3 turn into 4/3, and 1 3/4 into 7/4, then multiply and you get 28/12 or 7/3 simplified

A high school guidance counselor determined the following information regarding students and their likelihood of playing a sport
iogann1982 [59]

Conditional Probability

Given two events A and B (not excluding), the probability that A occurs given that B has occurred is called a <em>conditional probability</em> and is calculated as:

P(A|B)=\frac{P(A\cap B)}{P(B)}

Where P(A∩B) is the probability that A and B occur simultaneously and P(B) is the probability that B occurs.

Now with the given data, we must find the values of the required probabilities.

30% of the students play a sport (S), this means that:

70% of the students don't play a sport (NS).

65% of the students have a job.

Note that there could be students who both play sports and have a job.

Of the 30% of the students who play a sport, 50% have a job. This means that:

15% of the students play a sport and don't have a job

15% of the students play a sport AND have a job

65% - 15% = 50% of the students have a job and don't play a sport

That last number is the numerator of the equation given above:

P(A∩B) = 0.5

The event B corresponds to students that don't play a sport (NS), thus:

P(B) = 0.7

Thus we have:

P(A|B)=\frac{0.5}{0.7}=\frac{5}{7}

The required probability is 5/7 or 0.7143
