The first step is to find the relationship between the square base and the surface area.

Surface area (SA) = area of the square (SS) + area of triangles.4(AT)

Thus we can conclude area of triangles 4(AT) = SA - SS = 864 - (18*18)

4(AT) = 864 - 324 = 540

Each triangle = 540/4 = 135 square in.

An area of one triangle (AT)= (base* slant height)/2

The base = 18 in.

slant height = 2(AT)/base = 2(135)/18 = 15

1.You can see through the comparison to a mountain, that the grandpa is y’all and always the ‘looming’ (hovering) over the speaker you can see that the speaker does not speak much around his grandpa, as he is “silent as a stone”

2.These details show that the speaker is impressed by his grandpa and looks up to him the way a stone would look up to a mountain-it shows that he hopes one day he will grow to be like his grandpa

3.the theme of this poem is shown through the way the speaker looks at his grandpa and the shed. The shed needs more than paint because it’s so old, which relates to his grandpa and the theme of growing older

What is the simplified expression in standard form
Schach [20]

Answer:

\boxed{\sf - 2 {p}^{2}  - 11p - 35}

Step-by-step explanation:

\sf \implies - 2 {(p + 4)}^{2}  - 3 + 5p \\  \\  \sf \implies  - 2( {p}^{2}  + 2(p)(4) +  {4}^{2} ) - 3 + 5p \\  \\  \sf \implies  - 2( {p}^{2}  + 8p + 16) - 3 + 5p \\  \\  \sf \implies (( - 2) \times  {p}^{2} ) + (( - 2) \times 8p) + ( ( - 2) \times 16) - 3 + 5p \\  \\  \sf \implies  (- 2 {p}^{2} ) + ( - 16p ) + (- 32) - 3 + 5p \\  \\  \sf \implies  - 2 {p}^{2}  - 16p - 32 - 3 + 5p \\  \\  \sf \implies  - 2 {p}^{2} +   (- 16p + 5p) + ( - 32 - 3) \\  \\  \sf \implies  - 2 {p}^{2}  - 11p - 35
