Name some circumstances during which you might use your body's stores of glycogen

Answer:

During an intense physical effort, such as aerobic exercises.

During long periods of fasting.

Explanation:

The body stores energy immediately after eating calories and the first destination where these calories will be found is in the blood. The second will be in the muscles in the form of glycogen.

Muscle glycogen will be converted into glucose by muscle cells and liver glycogen will be converted into glucose to supply the body's needs, including prolonged fasting times.

This storage will be used whenever the body needs energy, as in the practice of intense exercises and when the individual goes a long time without eating.

Long distance athletes, such as marathon runners, cyclists, have already experienced glycogen depletion, where almost all glycogen stores have been depleted after long periods of physical effort without sufficient energy consumption. Phenomenon called “hitting the wall”.
