Answer: 3. researching the relationship between exposure to UV rays and skin cancer.

Explanation:

Applied research is an application based research as it utilizes the knowledge of scientific literature to solve the problems related to science. It is based upon the experimental procedure to find the cause of a natural phenomena.

Researching the ralationship between exposure to UV rays and skin rays. is the correct answer because it can be observed on the basis of experimental procedures the impact of UV under control conditions over the skin.

Hey, do you think you can help me with these questions? I'll give some extra points(can give more if needed)
rjkz [21]

Answer:

1. Both neutron stars and black holes are the corpses of stars that died in explosions known as supernovas. Black holes form when the most massive stars die and neutron stars form when stars not as large die. They both have a very strong gravitational pull, but a black hole's pull is stronger than a neutron star. Neutron stars will turn into black holes if the force of gravity breaks the resistance of electrons.

2. White dwarfs are degenerate, which means they can compress matter. The material in a white dwarf no longer undergoes fusion reactions, so it is supported only by electron degeneracy pressure. This causes it to be extremely dense, saving space and energy.

3. A light year is the distance light travels in a year while an astronomical unit is the average distance between the earth and the sun.

4. A convection zone transfers energy by radiation and conduction.

When a muscle cell contracts, Group of answer choices the position of each myosin head is identical at any given moment. some my
White raven [17]

Answer:

When a muscle cell contracts, the myosin heads each produce a single power stroke.

Explanation:

In rest, attraction strengths between myosin and actin filaments are inhibited by the tropomyosin. When the muscle fiber membrane depolarizes, the action potential caused by this depolarization enters the t-tubules depolarizing the inner portion of the muscle fiber. This activates calcium channels in the T tubules membrane and releases calcium into the sarcolemma. At this point, tropomyosin is obstructing binding sites for myosin on the thin filament. When calcium binds to the troponin C, the troponin T alters the tropomyosin by moving it and then unblocks the binding sites. Myosin heads bind to the uncovered actin-binding sites forming cross-bridges, and while doing it ATP is transformed into ADP and inorganic phosphate which is liberated. Myofilaments slide impulsed by chemical energy collected in myosin heads, producing a power stroke. The power stroke initiates when the myosin cross-bridge binds to actin. As they slide, ADP molecules are released. A new ATP links to myosin heads and breaks the bindings to the actin filament. Then ATP splits into ADP and phosphate, and the energy produced is accumulated in the myosin heads, which starts a new binding cycle to actin. Z-bands are then pulled toward each other, thus shortening the sarcomere and the I-band, and producing muscle fiber contraction.

konstantin123 [22]

Answer:

The Lineweaver- Burk plot is representation of Lineweaver-Burk equation of enzyme kinetics in graphical plot that is presented by the Hans Lineweaver and Dean Burk.

In the presence of a non competitive inhibitor shows higher y-intercept than a control in absence of any inhibitor whereas the x intercept is the same as the control that suggests or tells that maximum enzyme activity of the reaction is decreased, Higher Y intercept than controls means that it is same as 1/Vmax. The X intercept indicates that there is no effect on Km of the enzyme reaction.
