William Jaird Levitt was a real-estate developer of America. He is regarded as the "inventor of twentieth-century American suburbia". He and his business got a contract from the U.S. Government following the Second World War to deal with the issue of population growth. Therefore, he proposed the idea of suburbia for the settlement of soldiers who were returning from the war.
