Since David has to buy the avocadoes, we can multiply 3 by $1.50, which gives us $4.50 and will be a constant in the equation
Only the number of pounds of apples can vary (we will name the variable 'p')
Since he can spend LESS than 15, we have to use the sign <

If we combine it all together we get:
4.50+1.00p<15
4.5+p<15

3. Composition with Red, Blue & Yellow
spayn [35]

The different colours that has been used is red, yellow and blue and the number of central squares is = 73 boxes

The Mondrian's work

The First division that was divided into 9 equal parts has = 1 coloured red.

The second division is 8 remaining

uncoloured squares into 9 equal squares = 8×9= 72boxes

The number of boxes that was coloured yellow =8 boxes

The remaining uncolored boxes which is = 72 - 8 = 64 boxes

The third division is the division of each remaining uncolored boxes into 9. That is 64 × 9 = 576

The number of boxes that was coloured blue = 64 boxes

Therefore the number of central squares that has been coloured = 1 + 8 + 64

= 73 boxes

IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

1) k = 3

2) 3, 4, 5

3) k + (k + 2) + (k + 4) = 4k

4) 6, 8, 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Jared used the equation;

k + (k + 1) + (k + 2) = 4k

Let's find k.

3k + 3 = 4k

4k - 3k = 3

k = 3

Thus,the integers will be;

3, (3 + 1) and (3 + 2)

This is; 3, 4, 5

He is looking for consecutive even integers but yet got 3 and 5 which are odd numbers. However, he should have used the format;

k, (k + 2), (k + 4) as the 3 consecutive even integers.

Thus, rewriting the main equation gives;

k + k + 2 + k + 4 = 4k

3k + 6 = 4k

4k - 3k = 6

k = 6

Thus,the integers are;

6, (6 + 2), (6 + 4)

This is; 6, 8, 10

Answer:

2500

Step-by-step explanation:

let a represent the number of people that had swine flu on the 8th of May

a increased by 37.6% on the 9th of May. The 37.6% increase is equal to 3440

the equation that can be used to represent this is:

a x 1.376 = 3440

to find a, divide both sides by 1.376

a = 2500
