I think it is A because you are learning that Liz likes hiking. And you know that in the story Liz will be hiking mountains and something is going to happen.
Think of when your writing a paper, any time your main idea changes, you have to start a new paragraph. A paragraph is about 5-8 sentances long and deals with ONE main idea.
