Drag numbers to fill in the table to organize the information in this problem. Carter works for a fence company. He can paint a

fence at a rate of 2.25 feet per minute and stain a fence at a rate of 0.75 foot per minute. This week he needs to paint two fences. The first fence is 145.8 feet long, and the second fence is 76.2 feet long. How long will it take him to paint both fences?

Answer:

394.67 minutes (or about 6.58 hours)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>For 145.8 feet long fence:</u>

At a rate of 2.25 feet per minute, its gonna take him

\frac{145.8}{2.25}=64.8  minutes to pain

Also

At a rate of 0.75 feet per minute, its gonna take him

\frac{145.8}{0.75}=194.4  minutes to stain

<u>For 76.2 feet long fence:</u>

At a rate of 2.25 feet per minute, its going to take him

\frac{76.2}{2.25}=33.87  minutes to pain

At a rate of 0.75 feet per minute, its gonna take him

\frac{76.2}{0.75}=101.6  minutes to stain

In total, it's gonna take him:

64.8 + 194.4 + 33.87 + 101.6 = 394.67 minutes

In hours, that is 394.67/60 = 6.58 hours

The manufacturer of a certain brand of aluminum foil claims that the amount of foil on each roll follows a Normal distribution w
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

Given that the manufacturers claim is true, the probability that the sample mean area is 249.6 ft.² or less is 0.42074

Step-by-step explanation:

The manufacturer claims that mean amount of foil on each roll, μ = 250 ft²

The standard deviation of the measured amount of foil per roll, σ = 2 ft.²

The number of rolls tested by the restaurant, n = 10 rolls

The mean measured by the restaurant, \overline x = 249.6

Taking the sample means as individual score, we have;

The z-score, of the sample mean is given as follows;

z=\dfrac{\overline x -\mu }{\sigma }

At \overline x = 249.6, we have;

z = (249.6 - 250)/2 = -0.2

Therefore, the probability for a mean less than or equal to 249.6, we have;

The probability, P = P(z < -0.2) = 0.42074

The probability that the sample mean area is 249.6 ft.² or less given that the manufacturers claim is true, P = 0.42074.

Suppose the domain of g is ( negative infinity, infinity). Is the domain of f o g ( negative infinity, infinity)?
Anna007 [38]
The domain and range of the composition of f of g is not necessarily equal to the domain and range of g since the function f . This will only be true if the domain and range of the function f is (negative infinity, infinity).<span />

Sheri is making 4 pounds of mixed nuts. She will use One-third the amount of macadamia nuts as she does almonds. A graph titled
notsponge [240]

1 pound of macadamia nuts; 3 pounds of almonds of each nut will she use.

Given that,

Sheri is making 4 pounds of mixed nuts.

She will use One-third the number of macadamia nuts as she does almonds.

A graph titled Sheri's mixed nut recipe has pounds of macadamia nuts on the x-axis, and pounds of almonds on the y-axis. 2 lines intersect at (1, 3).

We have to find,

How many pounds of each nut will she use?

According to the question,

Total mixed nuts are 4 pounds,

She will use One-third the number of macadamia nuts as she does almonds.

2 lines intersect at (1, 3).

Therefore,

Sheri's mixed nut recipe has pounds of macadamia nuts on the x-axis,

At x-axis, the point 1 lies.

So, macadamia nuts have 1 pound.

And pounds of almonds on the y-axis,

At y-axis, the point 3 lies.

So, almond nuts have 3 pounds.

Hence, 1 pound of macadamia nuts; 3 pounds of almonds of each nut will she use.
