  • DNA encodes the information necessary to produce the proteins needed by your body. To make these proteins, DNA first undergoes a process known as transcription.
  • <em><u>Transcription is the process that takes place in the nucleus of  a cell, where the information on the DNA strand is transferred to a molecules known as mRNA. This process iscatalyzed by the enzyme RNA polymerase.</u></em>
  • <em><u>The mRNA is a type of RNA which carries the information from the DNA for protein synthesis. The mRNA moves from the nucleus to the cytoplasm to special organelles called ribosomes where proteins are synthesized. </u></em>The process of synthesis is called<em><u> translation</u></em> which involves decoding the information carried by the mRNA to synthesis proteins.
