Find the LCD (least common denominator)
\frac{5}{6}  and  \frac{1}{4}

it would be 12 (6x2=12 and 4x3=12)

so you multiply \frac{5}{6} by 2 and get \frac{10}{12}
then multiply \frac{1}{4} by 3 and get \frac{3}{12}

you get 3 WHOLE servings from \frac{5}{6} cups of icecream

I need help on these three questions I’m so confused on how to answer them
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

  1.  S(1) = 1; S(n) = S(n-1) +n^2

  2. see attached

  3. neither

Step-by-step explanation:

1. The first step shows 1 square, so the first part of the recursive definition is ...

  S(1) = 1

Each successive step has n^2 squares added to the number in the previous step. So, that part of the recursive definition is ...

  S(n) = S(n-1) +n^2

__

2. See the attachment for a graph.

__

3. The recursive relation for an arithmetic function is of the form ...

  S(n) = S(n-1) +k . . . . . for k = some constant

The recursive relation for a geometric function is of the form ...

  S(n) = k·S(n-1) . . . . . . for k = some constant

The above recursive relation is not in either of these forms, so it is neither geometric nor arithmetic.

Alisa is making bracelets with leather bands. each bracelet uses 7 3/4 inches of leather banding. she plans to make 4 bracelets.
Artyom0805 [142]
Each bracelet is 7 \frac{3}{4} inches

Turn it into an improper fraction

Multiply 7 and 4 and add 3 which is over 4 which is \frac{31}{4}

Multiply by 4 | for each bracelet being made

\frac{31}{4} * \frac{4}{1}= \frac{124}{4}

124÷4=31

Answer:

You need 31 inches to make all the braclets

Find the unit price rounded to the nearest cent: $12.35 for 11 lb
lys-0071 [83]
Answer:
unit price = $1.1

Explanation:
We are given that 11 lb cost $12.35. To know how much does 1 lb cost (unit price), all you have to do is cross multiplication as follows:
11 lb .......................> 12.35
1 lb .........................> ??
unit price = (1*12.35) / 11 = $1.122 which is approximately $1.1 (to the nearest cent)

Hope this helps :)
