25 miles per gallon of gas. during one particular week, the two cars went a combined total of 775 miles, for a total gas consumption of 35 gallons. how many gallons were consumed by each of the two cars that week?

Let's call the fuel consumption of the first car "x" and the second car "y"
x + y = 35 is the total fuel consumed.
20x + 25y = 775 is the distance traveled.
Solve the two equations. Skipping a few steps, I get
5y = 75. Therefore y = 15. So y used 15 gallons of gas. Therefore x used 20 gallons.

20 gallons, 15 gallons.

Which of these sets of angle measures could be the three angles in a triangle?
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer:

Okay so this is simple addition, once you know how to do it.

The interior angles of a triangle should always add up to 180 Degrees.

Now that you know this, all you have to do is add the numbers together and see which ones add up to 180 degrees.

A. - 90+42+58=190

B. - 60+60+60=180

C. - 100+48+42=190

D. - 31+75+70=176

Out of these choices the only one that adds up to 180 is B. So your answer would be B.

Help! What’s the measure of angle RST? Please explain, I want to learn.
KatRina [158]
The angle where the letter S is which would be angle RSQ = 1/2 x (131 +43) = 87

the angle opposite os RSQ would be PST and that would equal the same as RSQ which is 87

so 2 angles = 87 +87 = 174

so the other 2 angles need to equal 360 - 174 = 186

 since opposite angles equal each other divide that by 2 so 186 / 2 = 93

so both angle RST and PSQ are 93

The answer is D 93 degrees

When k=7 and q=35 find the value of p in direct proportion method
Arisa [49]
I think the answer is 5.

y = kx is the equation for direct proportionality. I’m guessing your “q” is the “y”, because 35 is easily divisible by 7.

35 = 7x
x = 5

Answer:

choosing two socks from a drawer of black and white socks without replacement

Step-by-step explanation:

Dependent events have results that depend on each other.  When I take one sock out, there are less socks in the drawer to pick from.  The probability of picking a certain sock changes because the number of socks are different when I do not put the sock back.  That makes the events dependent.

When I put the sock back, the  probability goes back to what it was before I took the sock, and now the results do not depend on each other, so when they are replaced, they are independent
