2x + 10 = 90 is our equation.
2x (x, the amount of baskets he made)
10 (the original bonus)
90 (total points)
Subtract 10 from both sides to get 2x by itself.
2x = 80
Divide by 2 to get x.
x = 40.
Nick made 40 baskets.

Answer: 40 baskets

Why 40 baskets?

If 10 our of 90 points were bonus, than 80 of the points must be from the baskets.

90 - 10 = 80

We know that nick got 2 points for every basket, so we must find out how many baskets he scored to get 80 points

80 ÷ 2 = 40

Nick scored 40 baskets.

Check?

40 baskets, and each are 2 points.

40*2 = 80

90 total, 80 baskets, 10 bonus

80+10 = 90

Final Answer: 40 baskets

An experiment consists on rolling a fair number cube. There are 6 possible outcomes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Find the probability
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer:

0

Step-by-step explanation:

The only possible outcomes on the die are 1,2,3,4,5,6.

Since 7 is not in the possible outcome list, It is impossible to obtain a 7 on this 6-sided die.

If the question had asked for the probability of other values, it would have been 1/6, because you can get each number at least once every 6 rolls. This, however varies in terms of experimental probability

Hope this helps
